HTC 7 Pro and Gratia get anglicized, heading to the UK in February

Oh, there’s no need to act like you’re surprised , fellow Brits. As promised, HTC’s going to dish out its latest budget Froyo Android and WP7 slider to the UK next month. Just a quick recap: the “pearl white” Gratia — which is the international version of the Aria — sports a humble 600MHz processor, along with a 3.2-inch 480 x 320 LCD and a VGA camera. As for the 7 Pro, it packs the bog standard WP7 specs (1GHz Snapdragon, 8GB storage, and 5 megapixel camera with 720p recording), as well as a slide-and-tilt 3.6-inch 800 x 480 display that reveals a landscape QWERTY keyboard underneath — the tilting part still a first for WP7. Sadly, it doesn’t look like any carriers have picked up either handset yet, nor has HTC shed light on their standalone costs, but hey, patience is priceless. HTC ThunderBolt will support simultaneous voice and data in LTE areas

At CES, Verizon had mentioned that “some… but not all” of its first LTE handsets would support the simultaneous use of voice and data. That’s not news for 3G customers on T-Mobile and AT&T, nor WiMAX customers on Sprint — but for Verizon subscribers, this is a very novel concept, indeed. Well, we can chalk up the mighty ThunderBolt from HTC as one of the models that’ll support it, if leaked training materials for the phone over on Android Central are to be believed. On a related note, the very existence of these materials gives us hope that we’ll be seeing it on store shelves before too long; don’t get us wrong, the two USB modems Big Red’s launched for LTE service so far are all well and good, but we could really use some handsets on these airwaves. Bloomberg: Sony PSP2 to debut next week, PlayStation Phone at MWC

It’s nothing that runs counter to the ongoing whispers we’ve heard so far, but according to Bloomberg and its pair of sources, Sony Computer Entertainment’s Tokyo event on January 27th is indeed the platform from which it’ll unveil the next PSP, and next month at Mobile World Congress will be where we finally meet — officially, that is — the PlayStation Phone . Next week’s press conference will also reportedly “outline a strategy to use its networked entertainment services to share games, movies and music among handheld products, TVs and other devices.” Not much else to say at this point, so just sit back, relax, and wait for the other guys to do their presentation, first. How would you change Windows Phone 7?|Blogs|Open Houses in Boston

Fair’s fair, right? The last time we spoke, we gave you all ample opportunity to tell webOS’ new owners how revision 2.0 should be changed , and now that Microsoft’s latest and greatest has been on the open market for a few months, it’s time to do the same with Windows Phone 7 . It’s obvious that WP7 is a huge, huge leap forward over Windows Mobile, but as a fledgling mobile OS, there are naturally quite a few areas where improvements could be made. If you were blessed with the ability to magically wave a wand and change anything about Windows Phone 7, what would it be? Would you tweak how the email notification system works? Alter how the tiles are laid out? Make it just a bit more like the Kin ? Go on and spill your heart below — you’re an early adopter, you’ve earned the right. BlackBerry Torch 2: a Torch with significantly bumped specs?

Whether you love or hate the design of the Torch , that was never where the main beef lay — instead, that honor would have to go to the lackluster internals, capped off with an awful, washed-out 480 x 360 display that had no business sitting in a device that’s supposed to be the crown jewel of RIM’s phone lineup. Well, capping off a wild day of BlackBerry leaks and rumors over at BGR comes news of a Torch 2 in the works that might just make good on those shortcomings (and a whole lot more) thanks to a 1.2GHz processor, 14.4Mbps triband HSPA, a VGA display at the original Torch’s same 3.2-inch size, BlackBerry OS 6.1, and — like some of the other leaks we’ve seen — integrated NFC, which suggests the Nexus S may have started something good here. Specs aside, yeah… the phone itself is nearly a dead ringer for the model it replaces, adding some chrome accents and calling it good. If BGR ‘s sources are on, you can look for this in the third quarter on AT&T.
